Residents of various cities in Russia, including Kaliningrad, Rostov, Krasnodar and others, report a mysterious phenomenon in the sky. Also, such a phenomenon is seen in Ukraine, Poland and Germany. There is an assumption that these are traces of rocket fuel dropped into the atmosphere. Perhaps their appearance is associated with the launch of the NROL-69 reconnaissance satellite, which was recently launched into orbit by the United States

ChatGPT will replace EVERYONE: in the latest update, AI has learned to generate images from scratch to the level of Midjourney, and videos are no worse than Sora. A real Photoshop has been assembled inside the OpenAI neural network, which edits photos, removes backgrounds, and enters text without hallucinations. Videos are generated slowly for now, but there are 3 free requests per day.

Scammers hacked the creator of the anti-hacking service Have I Been Pwned. He fell for a phishing attack.
Troy Hunt received an email about the blocking of his blog's mailing lists due to spam. After a long flight, he did not pay attention to the strange address and accidentally gave his entire subscriber base to the scammers.
Hunt reminds you to always enable two-factor authentication. The moral is that even an experienced cybersecurity specialist can be caught off guard if he doesn't get enough sleep.

The brain of action game gamers works faster than that of those who don't play.
The study involved 28 gamers and 19 non-gamers. They were given the task of determining the direction of movement of points on the screen.
The gamers coped faster, and their dorsal visual system, the area responsible for rapid orientation and decisionβmaking, was more active.

The composer's brain was revived and connected to an AI to "write" music again. It emits neural signals that turn into sound in real time.
A team of neuroscientists has grown a mini-organ from the cells of Alvin Lucier, who died in 2021. This brain was connected to electrodes that transmit signals to brass plates with built-in speakers.
The records sound when the organoid is active. At the same time, he hears and understands the surrounding sounds and adjusts the sound to them.

Matteo Paz, an 18-year-old high school student from California, has been interested in astronomy since childhood. From the age of 15, he took part in the space exploration programs for high school students at Caltech.
Under the guidance of his Caltech mentor, astronomer Dave Kirkpatrick, Matteo developed the VARnet model, which identifies variable cosmic objects such as supermassive black holes and supernovae. Matteo's project won a prestigious science competition for high school students with a $250,000 prize.
Paz applied the algorithm to process a huge amount of data (more than 200 terabytes) collected for 10.5 years by the now-retired infrared telescope NEOWISE. The telescope primarily observed asteroids near Earth but also detected many distant space objects that flashed, pulsated, or dimmed during eclipses.
After analyzing the archived dataset, Paz's algorithm identified 1.5 million previously unknown objects. The results are still awaiting verification, and the complete catalog will be released by the end of the year.
The AI model is in the public domain and potentially suitable for other research. According to Mateo, it can be useful for analyzing the stock market, atmospheric effects, and other phenomena where the information similarly comes in a time series.
Mateo dreams of continuing his research and, in the future, properly measuring the rate of expansion of the universe, challenging our understanding of its origin. Mateo recently got his first paid jobβat his mentor's research center for various NASA projects at Caltech.

China has unveiled a new-generation cargo spacecraft, Qingzhou (Qingzhou), designed to supply space stations (primarily, of course, the Chinese national space station Tiangong). A life-size model of the spacecraft was shown at the aerospace exhibition in Shanghai as part of the celebration of China's Cosmonautics Day. Qingzhou, developed by the Academy of Innovation for Microsatellites of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is scheduled to make its maiden flight as early as 2025. The development team is currently finalizing the design and development of the software for the initial testing phase. The production of subsystems and components of the test ship is already in full swing, said Chief designer Chang Liang.
Qingzhou, which means "light ship" in Chinese, has an integrated single-capsule design with a cargo volume of 27 cubic meters and a lifting capacity of up to 2 tons. It is designed to transport scientific research and experimental equipment, various scientific cargoes and basic necessities for Chinese astronauts. The ship is equipped with a four-tier shelving system with 40 compartments for special cargo. It is noteworthy that it can carry up to 300 liters of cold chain products, providing astronauts with fresh food during space flights.
"Qingzhou is a fast and maneuverable spacecraft designed with the needs of astronauts in mind, characterized by low cost, high reliability, flexibility and intelligence," said Shu Rong, Qingzhou Project Manager.
In addition to servicing the Tiangong Space Station, Qingzhou will be used in the future to deliver commercial cargo into space. On the first flight of Qingzhou otr

Disconnecting from other people's Wi-Fi: found in devices with the AirPlay function (https://www.wired.com/story/airborne-airplay-flaws /) a serious vulnerability. It turns any device into a point for sending hacker software.
iPhones, MacBooks, smart TVs, and speakers with Apple wireless technology are under threat. Due to a bug in the AirPlay SDK, anyone can connect to them via a shared Wi-Fi network and run a spyware program.
Apple has already released patches for most of the devices. But installing them on all vulnerable gadgets can take years.

Duolingo has been launched 148 new courses, fully AI-generated. Literally anyone can learn languages.
Previously, most of the courses were available only in English. For example, it was impossible to learn Japanese in Spanish β now there is such an opportunity.
This can be used to make a powerful charge for the brain. If you've already mastered a second language, try learning a new one. This will help you learn two non-native languages at once.
